Kemas preschool curriculum to be revamped in line with RPN 2026-2035

Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid says Kemas kindergarten curriculum will be updated to align with the new National Education Blueprint for continuity into MOE preschools
BAGAN DATUK: Kindergartens under the Department of Community Development (Kemas) will continue educating three- to four-year-old children in line with the new National Education Blueprint (RPN) 2026-2035.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the curriculum for Tabika, Tadika, and unity kindergartens under Kemas will be revamped.
This update aims to ensure continuity into the preschool classes for five-year-olds under the Ministry of Education (MOE).
“Last Friday’s cabinet meeting decided that the MOE will coordinate preschool education, whereby five-year-olds are required to attend classes in national schools and schools under the Ministry,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, spoke to the media after a groundbreaking ceremony for QL Inno Food Parks Bagan Datuk.
He added that education under Kemas will continue to be meticulously prepared.
These institutions will serve as feeder classes for five-year-old children entering preschool.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced on Jan 19 that six-year-old children can be registered as Year One pupils for the 2027 school session following the RPN launch.
