Dubai airports to resume limited flights after Iran strikes

Limited flights from Dubai’s airports will resume Monday evening after a three-day halt due to Iranian strikes on Gulf targets, including airports.
DUBAI: Dubai Airports has announced a limited resumption of flights from its two international airports starting on Monday evening, three days after operations were cancelled due to Iranian strikes in the Gulf region.
The operator said flights would resume from both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) from Monday evening.
Emirates airline and low-cost carrier flydubai both confirmed they would resume some services on Monday evening, while Etihad Airways, which operates from Abu Dhabi, said its flights would restart on Tuesday.
Iran’s unprecedented bombardment has targeted military bases and civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, hotels, and airports across several Gulf states since the campaign began on Saturday.
Airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Manama were among the facilities targeted in the strikes, which have rattled a region long considered a refuge from wider Middle East conflict.
Authorities reported one death in Abu Dhabi related to the “incident” at the airport facility there.
The United Arab Emirates had announced on Saturday that it was closing its airspace “temporarily and partially” as an exceptional precautionary measure.
The closures impacted a vital economic sector for Dubai, where the aviation industry accounts for about one-third of the emirate’s economy.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is ranked as the world’s second-busiest airport, behind only Atlanta in the United States, according to Airports Council International data.
