Only 69 units will be offered in Malaysia, with the number chosen to commemorate the country’s 69th Merdeka.
BYD Sime Motors has launched the 2026 BYD Atto 3 Performance in Malaysia, adding a new all-wheel-drive flagship to the electric SUV range with 330 kW, equivalent to 449PS, and 560Nm.
Priced at RM149,800, the Performance sits above the Atto 3 Ultra at RM125,800 and Premium at RM138,800. Only 69 units will be offered in Malaysia, with the number chosen to commemorate the country’s 69th Merdeka.
The biggest change is the addition of a second electric motor, giving the Atto 3 Performance all-wheel drive and a significant increase in output over the rear-wheel-drive Premium.
With 449PS and 560Nm combined, the Performance accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. For comparison, the Premium produces 313PS and 380Nm and completes the same sprint in 5.5 seconds.
The Performance uses the same 74.88kWh Blade LFP battery capacity as the Premium, with a claimed range of 530 km on the NEDC cycle.
The Premium goes further at 600km NEDC, while the entry-level Ultra with its smaller 60.48kWh battery is rated at 480km.
DC fast charging is supported at up to 220 kW, matching the Premium, while the Ultra is limited to 110 kW.
Beyond the additional performance, the new variant gains a Windscreen Head-Up Display and becomes the first Atto 3 in Malaysia to feature a built-in vehicle refrigerator with both cooling and heating functions.
Much of the remaining equipment follows the Premium, including a 15.6-inch centre touchscreen, 8.8-inch digital instrument display, 50W wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and seven airbags.
It also receives the Enhanced ADAS package with Intelligent Speed Limit Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Front Cross Traffic Alert and Front Cross Traffic Brake.
The Performance shares the Premium’s MacPherson strut front suspension with dual-ball joints and five-link rear suspension, while riding on 18-inch wheels with 235/50 tyres.
Four colours are offered for the Performance: Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey and Cosmos Black. The new Gemilang Blue introduced to the Atto 3 range is reserved for the Premium variant.
BYD is offering a launch package with either a wall charger with standard installation and overtrade support worth up to RM6,000, or a six-year standard service package with overtrade support worth up to RM5,000.
