Honda Malaysia has yet to announce the final variant line-up or pricing for the facelift.
IN case you missed it, the 2026 Honda City facelift is already making the rounds in Malaysia ahead of its official launch, giving us a closer look at the updated B-segment sedan after bookings opened late last month.
Both the petrol RS and e RS have been previewed, showing off the second facelift for the fifth-generation City that first arrived in Malaysia in 2020.
Up front, the updated City gets slimmer headlights, a narrower honeycomb grille and a redesigned bumper. On the RS, the lower intake takes on a sharper design and is joined by black air curtain elements, while a full-width light bar runs across the upper grille.
The Honda badge has also been repositioned above the grille onto the body-coloured trim, although the facelift continues to use the familiar rectangular Honda emblem rather than the brand’s newer H logo.
Changes at the rear are less extensive, but the RS gets revised taillight internals with a clear and black appearance, together with a more aggressive bumper featuring a black mesh-like centre section, diffuser-style insert and vertical reflectors.
Other RS-specific exterior details include black door handles, side mirror covers, shark-fin antenna and boot spoiler, while new 16-inch turbine-style alloy wheels are finished in Berlina Black with a dark machined face.
Inside, the changes are more subtle. The RS replaces the previous red dashboard trim with a textured silver finish and red accent strip, while ambient lighting has also been added.
A new 10-inch Display Audio touchscreen is another major update, replacing the previous eight-inch unit on higher variants.
It is paired with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the updated 360-degree Multi-View Camera adds multiple viewing angles and moving object detection.
A new switch at the end of the left steering column stalk allows drivers to cycle through the available camera views.
The RS also receives revised seat upholstery, while the e RS adds a wireless phone charger in the centre console.
Safety remains a key part of the update, with Honda Sensing continuing as standard. The suite includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, auto high beam and lead car departure notification.
Blind Spot Information and Cross Traffic Monitor are also being added across the range, complementing the existing Honda LaneWatch camera.
There are no major mechanical changes. Petrol variants retain the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 121PS and 145Nm, paired with a CVT.
The e RS continues with Honda’s i-MMD hybrid system, where the primary traction motor produces 109PS and 253Nm.
Its 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine primarily acts as a generator but can also provide direct mechanical drive at higher speeds.
Honda Malaysia has yet to announce the final variant line-up or pricing for the facelift. For reference, the outgoing City currently ranges from RM84,900 for the S to RM99,900 for the petrol RS, while the e RS is priced at RM111,900.
Bookings for the facelift are already open, with customers who place an order between August 27 and September 30 eligible for an RM3,000 early bird reward.
